Fingerless gloves started

Those purple mittens are done! I didn't photograph them yet. I hesitate to do so. The problem is that the thumb on the second mitten turned out really fat compared to the first mitten, even though the number of stitches is the same. Can't figure that one out. I will have to rip and redo. Meanwhile, I started working on fingerless gloves from knitty.com. Click title to see them.
I'm loving working on the cables on these. What a great twist to do cables instead of ribbing for the cuff.
It is so hot and humid here. This is my least favorite weather of all time. Where I live, we get tons of snow and wind (Buffalo area) in the winter. I prefer that to this nasty thick, heavy air. I can't breathe without sweating. My ankles swell. We all know how uncomfortable and unattractive it is to have elephant ankles. Yuck! And there's no end in sight. It feels like it should rain, but it doesn't. Not that there would be any relief if it did rain. Thank goddess for air conditioning. This is my first full summer with one of these propped in my bedroom window. I don't know how I survived in years past. I'm sure I was a total bee-yatch.
