Sock On Foot

Pretty good fit. :) I have started the mate to this sock. I am a little concerned that I won't have enough yarn to finish the second sock. I console myself by reminding me that I can always dye more yarn! And if it's not exactly the same as the first, all the more fun! I did enlarge the pattern for my ample ankles by adding 8 stitches to the circumference, so I used a little more yarn than the pattern calls for. But, it's easily remedied. By the way, the chair in the photo was painted and reupholstered by me. The chair itself is that bright yellow-green. I did a whole set of these chairs from an old dining room set (the table was trashed). Each chair has a different fabric on the seat cushion - all inspired by summer cottage themes.

Saturday morning - another morning to love. Sipping my morning tea, listening to the locusts buzz in the trees in my backyard, watching the squirrels scamper around. These are the moments I miss when I am in a rush to get to work in the morning. I had such a busy work week; it makes the weekend all the more satisfying. Today I am traveling with my dog to the southern tier to visit my sister and a cousin who is up from Pennsylvania to go to the casino. It will be nice to see her. I will certainly take my knitting and my recently dyed yarn for show and tell. My sister has the most amazing flower beds. She has a small business, selling perennials. She propagates them herself, so her land is covered with flower beds of every variety imaginable. It will be a great photo op!
