Among other projects, I have been working on these. A young woman at work is expecting a baby boy toward the end of October. This is one of my few forays into use of acrylic yarn, but I remember how laundry goes when you have a baby, and this young woman is not a domestic whiz. I loved the colors. Since he is going to be BIG (already nearly 5 lbs and nearly 2 months to go) I expect he will be born needing size 6 months clothes. This is about a size 12 or 18 months. The sweater is from a free pattern called One Stitch Baby Sweater at www.lionbrandyarns.com. The socks are from http://www.valleycafe.com/knitting/sock-pattern.html and the hat is from http://knitting.about.com/library/blhatadjust.htm
The cool thing about the hat pattern is that the pattern works for any size head, from baby to adult. I think I will use this pattern when I make a hat for me! Who needs to buy patterns when you can get free patterns online! I love it.

It has been pretty stormy weather-wise. I's cold, windy and rainy. I hear my sump pump coming on now and then. Haven't heard that sound since last spring. I don't mind the weather though. Makes me feel like knitting and baking. Autumn is near. I love autumn. It's really my favorite season. It's so colorful. Mother Nature really gets out her paint palette during October. My camera gets really busy to capture all the beauty. I have worn my 2 pairs of wool socks I knit that I kept for myself because mornings have been so chilly. How wonderful wool socks are! I took my dog for her walk yesterday in the rain and wet. I stepped in water and for a moment I felt the cold the of water, but then it was gone. Cotton socks would have KEPT that foot COLD and wet. Wool didn't hold the water, and my foot stayed warm. Love it! Thank ewe, wherever you are.
