This project requires a sweater you can recycle. Very simple. I bought a small adult lambs wool and angora sweater from a thrift store. It is impossible to unravel! I cut the arms off the sweater, used a steel crochet hook to pull sock yarn loops through the ribbed cuffs and place them on 4 small dpns to form a knitting tube. I knit 3 rounds, then started decreasing on the sides to shape a toe. I let the top of the socks roll a little - didn't finish them at all. Remember, I couldn't unravel the yarn? Voila! New socks. If they fall down, I can always do the same thing at the top and knit some rows of ribbing.
