Ch-ch-ch-Changes!

In less than two weeks, my daughter is moving in with me. She is 27 and has been out on her own now for over 5 years. This move has several contributing factors.
1. We both need to reduce our living expenses.
2. She wants to go back to college full time.
3. I want to work fewer days.
4. I have a whole house to myself with an extra bedroom, finished basement and garage.
5. We spend nearly every weekend together anyway

...not to mention that we would like to take a trip to Scotland next year and that would not be possible while supporting 2 households. So, she has given notice to her landlord, applied to transfer her PT job to a store close to my place and has moved her livingroom furniture into the livingroom in my house. Her furniture is nicer than mine, so there's another perk for me. She also has this humongous TV, not something that I ever deemed necessary, but I am not opposed to watching it. My dog loves her better than she loves me, and daughter is willing to take the dog for a walk. I like that part too. Now mind you, daughter will not be splitting household expenses with me, but there will be a contribution based on her earnings while she engages in fulltime studentship. All around, I like the idea.

Meanwhile, my work situation is about to change. HOORAY! I have a part time job just about landed as a therapist and I will be reducing my day job by 12 hours. I will be making about the same money but will be doing something I enjoy oodles more. I will also only be working 3 1/2 to 4 days per week. That gives me more than one full day to dedicate to building my fiber arts practice. This makes me very happy. The way things were jobwise 2 months ago I was tearing my hair out, rubbing my face with ashes and wearing burlap sacks to work to express my sorrow and disdain. Now I am willing to use soap. Daily.

Good luck - it all sounds very exciting...we have Jon's brother lodging with us for a few weeks starting this weekend. His family have moved across the country but he hasn't yet got a job there so he's staying with us. As he and Jon argue whenever they spend more than 10 minutes in the same room I'm not looking forward to it.....
oooo and if you do make it this side of the pond next year you have to let me know!
