Crazy!

This is the barn at the farm where we are going for the holidays. The barn houses sheep, as depicted by the bit of artwork there.

Things have definitely been that, and not for the holiday hustle and bustle. I am still adjusting to the 2 job schedule. On top of that, I am trying to get some knitting projects done. I am nearly done with one of three pairs of socks. Actually I have until Dec. 30 to complete those. And, before 12/23, I need to finish a scarf and another little project which shall remain nameless in case a certain someone reads this. Fortunately, I have extra days off during the week to work on things.

On top of that, I did have to do a little bit of shopping for Secret Santa at work. That was fun! I always enjoy this holiday game we play in the office. Lots of the staff try to figure out who has whose name. Some of them are pretty sly detectives, catching you off guard while they gather clues. Some people just blab who they got without much coaxing. It's so much fun to witness. Makes the whole holiday extra fun.

Our strange 60 degree weather into November finally gave in to real late autumn weather. We have snow today (but not much). Earlier this week, the drive home from work took me over an hour (and usually it takes me 12 minutes) because the roads were a glaze of ice. It was bumper-to-bumper cars, stop-and-go with maximum speeds at about 5 mph. I was just happy to get home safely that night.

How sad about the Dad who died trying to get help for his stranded family in the Oregon wilderness. My heart is breaking for his young wife and her 2 children. I am a big believer in always being prepared - must be the Girl Scout in me. That smart mom had food(snacks) and water packed for the trip for her children and she breast-fed both of them. She is a true heroine. It is probably her preparedness that kept them well. She is in my book of heroes.

Have a great day. Thanks for your visit!
