Gorgeous yarn! Sorry to read that you fear rats. I have 2 little ratties, Fred and George, and they're not at all scary! Now spiders, that's another story!
I never used to be afraid of rats. In college, I was the caretaker of a labful of white rats for the psychology department, no problem. It was only when an old apartment became rat-infested with big, nasty wild rats that I developed the fear. They ruled the place. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.
