My daughter just opened her own etsy shop. She has been designing and creating earrings and thought she would give it a try. It's called Em's gEMs. If you would like to see it, it's here:

She inspired me to make a few baubles myself. I love buttons. I have been making earrings from buttons and I love them! I scoured the craft store over the weekend and gathered up all the clearance buttons ($.25 for a card) that I thought were pretty or interesting. I made a few into post earrings and plan to make more. It's so much fun! Em reminded me that she and her brother used to love to play in my round tin of buttons when they were kids. And my sisters and I did the same with our mother's button box. I remember that no piece of old clothing ever went to waste in our mother's house. It was cut up for rags if it was not good enough for anyone to wear. The rags went into a rag bag, but not until the buttons were harvested and placed in mom's button box. We used to string them up like beads as kids. Did you do this when you were little?
I still trying to find the time to complete the bag for felting. I have completed the bag and flap and am now knitting the shoulder strap. I am using double strands for the strap to make it extra thick and sturdy. It goes pretty fast, actually, but it's hard to find time to do it. I am busy with my 2 jobs outside the home and our etsy yarn shop. So much to create in such little time! I enjoy it all and have no complaints.
We have the ugliest weather EVER! Give me a snowstorm any day. I can't take this 90 degree heat and high humidity. I could never live where this weather is common. How people live in a perpetual state of sweat is beyond me. I like to be DRY.
On the health front, I have lost 45 lbs since my surgery. Yippee! It's fun to try on my old clothes and find them to be too big!
That's about it for now. I'll see you on YOUR blog.
