So the shipping process has moved along. I am shocked to learn that shipping my 7 bins of clothes and personal items will run over $3500!
Maybe I need to rethink what I am taking.
Still no FBI report. It's been over 4 weeks. I spoke with my London liaison person yesterday and it appears that despite these things, my process is on track. Still have work visa process to go through and whatever else immigration throws my way.
I have been perusing properties online and found one that is of particular interest to me. It's a renovated "mews house". I looked it up - it was formerly a stable and has historical significance. Lovely little stone bungalow with new kitchen and really lovely stone fireplace. Only drawback is that there is only one bedroom and I have my heart set on two. Need a guest room!
But it's very charming. Likely it won't be available by Nov. - surely someone will grab it up by then. But I can dream.
I am really enjoying being in the country. I picked up corn from a farm down the road as my contribution to a wonderful supper. I did laundry and hanged my clothes on the line. I watched hummingbirds feed from flowers on the back porch. The air smells deliciously of autumn. The cat pounced on imaginary critters in the backyard. My sister rode her cub cadet around to mow her lawn. What fun!
Life is easy.
