I only recently discovered the "other" method. I am a thrower. I tried the other method, and while I was able to do it and could see the benefits, I just couldn't get my fingers to do it as quickly as I can "throw".
What's your favorite? Who taught you? Comments will be greatly appreciated. My insatiable curiosity will be satisfied. :) Happy knitting!

i also throw. i tught myself from a book. i did learn to pick once & only to purl. i learned it to help teach a leftie how to purl & picking is easier for them. i also see how its probably better & faster but don't want to change the way i knit mid projects because it'll change the gauge.
I also throw. That's the way I've learned. I also learned form a book. That's also the way I've taught. Can't seem to do the other way, fingers don't work that way or something. Maybe if your taught continental you can do it? Don't know.
throw. i have tried picking, but my gauge is just so loose because i am not used to doing it that way. i'm trying to learn slowly. start picking some smaller projects
