Hello to All My Readers From Around the World!

I would love to know where you are and what you do? This is my journal, but I am as interested in you as well! So, if you would be so kind, please tell us all where you live, what is your vocation, and one thing that is very important to you in your life. I would like to become more acquainted with my fellow cyber-travelers in this life. Here are my answers to the questions:

I am live near Buffalo, NY, just across the bridge from Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, and less than 20 miles from Niagara Falls. By day, I supervise a therapeutic foster care program. By night, I knit, hand dye wool yarn, read, garden, do a little spinning on a drop spindle. I am also an amateur digital photographer. What is most important to me is family. My children are grown. I have twins; a son and a daughter. My son lives in Brooklyn, NY and is an artist. My daughter is in college and lives in Buffalo also. I have a little buddy, my dog Betsy, who is a Pekingese. She's very affectionate, funny and an all around great little companion.

Now it's your turn! I am curious to see who is the farthest away from Buffalo. I would very much like to learn about where you live and the differences in our cultures.

Hi Sonja! I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I can hear the ocean surf from my house. I grew up on Lake Ontario, except on the Canadian side! I stay at home with my 13 yo son and 9 yo daughter, and we homeschool. The most important thing in my life right now is helping my kids to discover what they are passionate about and how they would like to make a living. I want them to be one of the rare people in the world who love what they do, whether it's fixing cars, being an artist, or being a lawyer. Oh and that's just as important to me...to discover what I want to be as I grow up! ;-)

Hi Sonja, I live in Ohio. I have 2 children also. My son is 21 and is "finding himself" and my daughter is 16, she is a junior in high school (she has her whole life planned out). I have been married for 23 years (to the same man). I work in the office of my husband's family's small manufacturing business. I knit whenever I can (esp. socks). It's nice to get to know everyone!

Sonja (and everyone else out there in blog-land), I live in Buckinghamshire, England which is about 3 1/2 thousand miles from Buffalo I think.
I'm an accountant and live with my husband, Jonathan, and my cat, Simpson.
Jon and I have been trying to start out family for over 5 years now and are in the middle of the adoption approval process at the moment so that would be the most important thing in my life right now.

Sonja, I live about 20 minutes from Kat in SOUTH San Francisco, The Birthplace of Biotech. I'm a full-time mom/housewife who routinely ignores the "house" part in favor of knitting, blogging, and reading blogs. One day I shall drag my rear up to the City to meet Kat instead of just harrassing her on her blog. ;->

I live in Brooklyn, NY with my wonderful husband and fabulous dog. I am Family Nurse Practitioner and direct a student health and counseling service at an art and design college. My husband and the rest of my family are most important to me, the pets in my life make everything better and my job -helping and healing people- is a deep passion.

Hello Sonja! I'm in Asheville, North Carolina and I work in a DVD factory. I've been knitting since I was 11, but I've only been taking it seriously for about 4 years.

Howdy neighbor!
I live in Clayton New York (I found you via the upstate NY blog ring, how cool!) During the Summer I'm the head cook at the Chez Paris Diner in Alexandria Bay and during the Winter I decorate cakes and knit (and crochet) like a fiend.
