News from Knitwit Central

Things have been mighty busy lately at Knitwit Central. Our yarn shop, www.thankewe.etsy.com is doing great and keeps growing all the time. We are now offering not just sock yarns, but lace weight yarns in merino wool and worsted weight yarns in superwash wool.
As many of you know, our supplier for superwash wool sock yarn has been knitpicks. They haven't had any available since early June and expect some in late July. In the interim, we have offered hand dyed donegal superwash sock yarn from knitpicks (superwash wool with flecks of red, blue, yellow and green) in blue spruce, indigo denim, blue and gold and other colors. We have also offered hand dyed superwash fingering weight from a new supplier, Wool2Dye4. We will have more of this yarn soon hand dyed in our usual lovely colors. There are also a few skeins of hand dyed superwash Blue Faced Leicester imported from England, if you want to try that. When Knitpicks has their superwash bare fingering weight yarn in, we will be using it once again.
We have received and filled many many special orders from customers. So, if there is a color combo that you see in our "sold" section, you can order it from us by sending us a conversation in etsy. There is no additional charge for special orders. Speaking of price, I have looked around quite a bit online for price ranges of superwash wool sock yarn and I am pleased to report that our prices appear to be the lowest. If there is someone out there whose prices are lower for the quality and skein size that we offer (our superwash wool is 460 yards), I would like to know about it.
My daughter Emily has been a great asset to the yarn shop. She creates her own color combinations, many based on the fruit of her love of gardening. You will see many color combinations inspired by flower colors. Take a look!
On ther personal side, I am back to work, having sufficiently recovered from surgery I had in May. Feels good to be back into the routine. I enjoyed having so much time off during lovely weather. I'll really miss those mornings of coffee sitting under the spruce tree, watching the birds. We still do them on weekends, but it was lovely to do this everyday!
We got a pool - take a look. Laugh, go ahead. We can sit in this and cool off on hot days. Beats having to worry about a fence, an alarm, and other extra expenses that come with the big pools.

And, probably ths most important news of all - Emily graduated from college! Here's proof:

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer!
